Classic Rock Live

Please join your host Pierre Robert for 2 hours of live musical performances and concert memories from John Mellencamp, Kansas, Elton John and REM.

Look for two Tom Petty songs recorded 23 years apart but played back to back in our Then and Now segment.

Pierre will have a Theme Block of bands that underwent huge directional changes in their careers and inside our exclusive Wish You Were There feature, we have Billy Joel invites Sir Paul McCartney out to do a Beatles number.

Chop Shop

I’m Steve Black, join me and this week’s special guests Blake Allard of Joyous Wolf and Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge. I’ll have guitar-driven songs to play from Dirty Honey, Guns N’ Roses, Volbeat and Bush.

In the Founding Fathers segment we have Opeth paying tribute to Robin Trower and our All-Star Salute will take a deeper listen to the guitar work of Steve Stevens (Billy Idol).

We end the broadcast each week with a selection from our Top 50 List. The Chop Shop’s Top 50 Essential Guitar Albums of the 90s. This week we play a song from album number 7: Core from Stone Temple Pilots.

Chop Shop Classic

This week Steve welcomes special guest Vernon Reid from Living Colour. We will feature  the music of Van Halen, Steely Dan, Jimi Hendrix and Rush.

The Vintage Vinyl Review drops us back in 1979 for April Wine’s 1st taste of US success.

And the 2 new entries of The Chop Shop’s Top 100 Guitar Solos in Classic Rock History List are: Song #76 “Jane” from Jefferson Starship and #75 “Won’t Get Fooled Again” from The Who.
